Ceramic membranes for industrial wastewater treatment

Overview

Ceramic UF and NF membranes are a relatively new class of materials for the treatment of produced water. They present better thermal and chemical resistance than conventional polymeric membranes. Despite the fact that ceramic membrane has a superior stable quality in an aggressive environment, they are relatively undeveloped compared with its competitor, polymeric membranes, in the fields of industry. Production-related parameters such as module geometry, fittings and cleaning procedures are always first developed by academic groups and then adopted by the market.

This course provides the knowledge at the leading edge of ceramic membranes in the application of industrial wastewater treatment. Both theoretical and practical knowledge on the properties of membrane and operation of membrane processes are covered.

For whom

Professionals and/or employees dealing with the operation of industrial wastewater treatment where ceramic membranes is the core component.

Researchers and/or students who want to extend the knowledge of ceramic membranes in the application of industrial wastewater treatment.
